This is one of our favourites from the Shapes & Structures series – Needles.

“Discarded needles. The word evergreen is kind of a lie. Because pines don’t actually stay green all year. From August to October, the oldest needles on a pine prepare to be shed, turning first yellow then brown before they drop to the ground from top to bottom of the tree. Scattered on chilly grey asphalt bricks marked with graphic mossy paths; for some it’s a feast of textures, for others, just the ground.”
